She implored people to adhere to the two-week full lockdown set to begin on June 1.
She said Hulu Terengannu, the state’s last remaining green zone as of May 15, turned red “in the blink of an eye” as a result of people disobeying restrictions on inter-state travel and home visits to celebrate Hari Raya.
In a Facebook post, she rattled off stories of clusters and outbreaks caused by such acts of non-compliance.

In one case, a family member who travelled to Terengganu from Johor, mere days before the holiday, ended up spreading the virus to 24 family members, with an additional four workers at the local market also linked to the person’s actions.
In another, somebody who first travelled to Bentong, Pahang, before returning to celebrate the holiday with neighbours in the state led to six testing positive and hundreds of potential close contacts.
She said the latest cluster linked to Hari Raya activities involved somebody who travelled from Melaka, spreading the virus to 10 colleagues at the office, with contact tracing still ongoing.
Nor Azimi also recalled the story of 14 family members who travelled to attend the funeral of a family member. All of them ended up testing positive for Covid-19.
“Eventually, it spread to the mosque and members of the congregation were confirmed positive. How many congregants and family members of congregations have been exposed to the virus?
“Why is this your attitude?” she asked people who had flouted the SOP rules, questioning whether they had begun to think they were immune to the virus.
“Now, the tragedy has fallen into our hands and not the hands of others. No need to point fingers at anyone.
“The fact is, we were wrong. We wept as we saw the death toll increase every day across all ages.
“Hulu Terengganu can no longer be considered a safe district. Mukim Kuala Berang also has clusters. Mukim Hulu Telemong and Mukim Tanggol have also been hit by ‘typhoon Covid-19’.
“If the SOP violations continue, then the people of Hulu Terengganu must be prepared to face an even larger cluster.”
Nor Azimi called the announcement of a lockdown from June 1 a “relief” and hoped that this time, people will listen and obey SOPs.
