Tree falls near national museum, two injured

Two men were injured after a tree located in front of the national museum on Jalan Travers, Kuala Lumpur, fell today.

In a statement, the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said they received a distress call at 3.21pm.

Operations commander Md Izzat Ahmad said they found the tree had damaged a car (Proton Saga) and a motorcycle (Yamaha LC 135) upon arrival.

One of the victims was the driver of the car who escaped with minor injuries when the tree fell on his vehicle while another victim was a motorcyclist who had also suffered minor injuries on his legs.

The motorcyclist was sent to hospital for further treatment.

Firefighters were present at the location for clearing work. Traffic was held up for more than an hour as the fallen tree had completely blocked the road.
