Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said Khairy should reveal the vendor, project manager, lead tech and developer behind the PICK system, and also provide details on the firm’s credentials.
She also asked how much of the RM70 million had been spent so far and why the Covid-19 vaccine supply access guarantee special committee (JKJAV)’s hotline and email helpdesk were not responding to the public.
“Vaccines are a life-saving right. Regardless of the RM70 million being a ceiling (price), the people deserve answers. Reveal the website tender details now,” the DAP assemblyman said in a statement today.
Lim said her office received numerous complaints from the public that calls and emails to the hotline and helpdesk remained unanswered.
The JKJAV website has drawn flak from Malaysians over the poor user interface during the AstraZeneca opt-in vaccine registration, with many slamming the RM70 million allocated for the PICK system.
Khairy’s deputy, Ahmad Amzad Hashim, earlier said the registration had gone through a stress test without any hitches, adding that Putrajaya would improve on its vaccine registration system.
With the AstraZeneca vaccine now reincorporated into the main PICK stream, Khairy said there would no longer be a need for Malaysians to rush to register for the jabs.
In a press conference earlier today, Khairy said Putrajaya did not spend the full RM70 million on the website, clarifying that the funds cover a range of things.
He said the RM70 million allocated by the government for data integration and the appointment-making system was only a ceiling price for several systems.
These include:
- The management and monitoring of PICK implementation
- Development of a daily PICK report dashboard
- An integrated system to link MySejahtera’s database with the health ministry’s pharmacy system
- Development of a Chatbot system and a vaccine registration portal
- A system to trace registrations and vaccinations as well as the development of a tracking system in MySejahtera using Google Maps
- Development of genomic surveillance and immunisation surveillance systems
- Integration of the digital passport system in MySejahtera
- A logistic management system and vaccine delivery network
- Management of Covid-19 immunisation task force call centres
- A Malaysian Vaccine Support Volunteers system to manage the mobilisation of volunteers in PICK
- Sending of text messages and phone calls to remind people of vaccinations, with between five to 10 reminders per person
While unsure how much has been spent so far, Khairy had assured that the government has not reached the price ceiling.
