Putrajaya district police chief Mohd Fadzil Ali said the statements from Azmin’s family members and the General Operations Force staff on duty were recorded at his official residence.
However, Fadzil said police were still waiting for a statement from Azmin’s sister, Ummi Hafilda Ali, who had uploaded an image and posted on Facebook alleging that members of Azmin’s family had violated the inter-district travel ban.
“Police have finished recording the statement of Azmin and his family at his official residence on May 14 and May 15.
“We are still waiting for Facebook user Ummi Hafilda Ali to come forward and give her statement in order to complete the investigation papers,” he said in a statement today.
Fadzil said currently police had not been able to contact Ummi Hafilda.
Yesterday, Fadzil had said initial investigations found that the gathering was among the minister’s family members, who lived under the same roof.
“A statement from the officer in charge of the security post at the minister’s home said no guests came in on May 13,” he said.
It was reported earlier that Ummi Hafilda had uploaded a photo showing Azmin and his family members celebrating Hari Raya at his residence, subsequently questioning whether they had violated the SOPs currently in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
On May 11, the government imposed a total ban on visits during the first day of Aidilfitri. Visiting family members’ graves was also prohibited.
