PETALING JAYA:
National archer Haziq Kamaruddin did not die of Covid-19 or its vaccine.

Hospital Kajang senior consultant in forensic medicine Dr Zahari Noor said this was indicated in a post-mortem on Haziq today.

“The post-mortem findings showed he died due to ‘coronary artery atherosclerosis’ or hardening of arteries.

“There is no direct evidence to show his death was due to the Covid-19 vaccine.”

He said Haziq had also tested negative for Covid-19 before doctors performed the autopsy.

Haziq, 27, was pronounced dead at the Kajang Hospital at 9.37am yesterday.

According to a family member, he collapsed after performing the subuh prayers at his house in Kajang.

The recurve archer had brought fame and glory to Malaysia with many of his achievements at the international level.

He had competed in two Olympic Games – London 2012 and Rio 2016. He was expected to participate in July’s Tokyo Olympics.
