Senior federal counsel Ahmad Hanir Hambaly, appearing for the transport ministry, said the court set the date when the case was mentioned today.
The government is seeking to quash the leave granted by the High Court to project contractor Dhaya Maju LTAT Sdn Bhd last month for its judicial review to be heard in its full merits.
The appeal was made a week after the High Court’s order in favour of the contractor.
The High Court had also issued a stay order against the government to call a public tender on the KVDT2 project pending the disposal of the case.
Dhaya Maju LTAT had also filed two separate suits against the government on the termination of its contract to manage the line.
Transport minister Wee Ka Siong announced last year that the Cabinet had agreed to convert the KVDT2 rehabilitation project to an open tender and to cancel the directly negotiated contract after it found that the project cost a lot less than the amount previously cited.
KVDT2 was one of the 101 projects, involving a total of RM6.61 billion, which the Perikatan Nasional-led government said were awarded through direct negotiations under Pakatan Harapan’s watch.
