
Finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz said the beneficiaries include 3.6 million households, one million single elderly people and 3.8 million individuals.
The payments will be made in stages with each recipient receiving between RM150 and RM600 depending on how much aid they qualify for.
Eligible recipients will have the aid credited to their accounts between this Friday and next Wednesday.
For those without bank accounts, including those in Sabah and Sarawak, payments will be made through Bank Simpanan Nasional branches.
Members of the public may check on their eligibility starting from Friday at https://bpr.hasil.gov.my.
A total of RM1.93 billion was disbursed to 8.4 million recipients under phase 1 of the BPR.
In total, the government has provided RM6.59 billion in aid for the B40 under BPR as of May 2021.
“The government is committed to ensuring aid reaches those in need for their well-being,” Tengku Zafrul said.
