In a statement, health minister Dr Adham Baba said this was out of the 89 clusters and 4,868 infections detected since the start of the year.
He added that 39 clusters and 1,420 cases were linked to schools and institutions under the education ministry, while 19 clusters with 1,870 cases involved higher education institutions.
Adham reassured that his ministry was always working with all parties under the education sector to curb the spread of Covid-19.

He explained that health officials would be mobilised to conduct investigations, contact tracing and risk assessments the moment a positive case is detected in an area.
In such an event, Adham said, the district health office would then consider the need for a temporary school closure to carry out preventive measures and prevent more infections.
He also reminded those in the education sector to adhere to the standard operating procedures and to inform the nearest district health office if there was a confirmed case.
“The cooperation between the health ministry and all parties in the education sector will be further enhanced to ensure their health and safety,” he said.
