KUALA LUMPUR:
The Court of Appeal will hear former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Mansor’s appeal against his conviction and sentence for accepting a RM2 million bribe from a businessman tomorrow.

Tengku Adnan, 70, or better known as Ku Nan, filed the appeal on Dec 21 last year after the Kuala Lumpur High Court sentenced him to 12 months’ jail and a RM2 million fine after finding him guilty of the charge.

However, the court allowed his application for a stay of execution of the jail sentence and fine pending his appeal.

Tengku Adnan, who is also the Putrajaya MP, was charged in his capacity as a public servant with receiving RM2 million from Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd (AKSB) director Chai Kin Kong. The money was deposited into a bank account owned by Tadmansori Holdings Sdn Bhd in which he had an interest in and was known to AKSB as being related to his official duties.

He was accused of committing the offence at a bank in Pusat Bandar Damansara here on June 14, 2016.
