KUALA LUMPUR:
Gerakan, which lost all 22 parliamentary and 31 state seats it contested in the last general election, wants to contest in more constituencies in the 15th general election (GE15).

Party president Dominic Lau said they will make the request but will leave the final decision to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Presidential Council which has the last say on the seat allocation for component parties in GE15.

Speaking to reporters after chairing a Central Committee meeting today at the party headquarters here, he declined to name the seats it was eyeing for GE15.

Lau said Gerakan had instructed all state leaders to make the necessary preparations for the election.

He said ensuring PN’s victory in GE15 was the main focus of Gerakan, which joined the coalition on Feb 11.
