STAR sec-gen takes oath as deputy tourism minister

Guan Dee Koh Hoi hopes to revitalise the travel industry, which has been badly hit by the pandemic.

KUALA LUMPUR:
STAR secretary-general Guan Dee Koh Hoi took his oath of office as a deputy minister before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, at Istana Negara today.

Guan Dee, a senator, has been appointed deputy tourism, arts and culture minister.

The ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and chief secretary to the government Mohd Zuki Ali.

Also present were tourism, arts and culture minister Nancy Shukri and agriculture and food industry minister Ronald Kiandee.

Guan Dee thanked Muhyiddin for his appointment and expressed his hope to revitalise the tourism sector, which has been badly affected by Covid-19.
