GEORGE TOWN:
A jealous husband pushed his wife out of their 18th floor living room window, causing her to fall to her death yesterday, according to police.

The woman was found dead on the bottom of the Bukit Awana condominium building in Air Itam here.

Northeast district police chief Soffian Santong said police received information on the discovery of the body of the 35-year-old woman yesterday at 12.06am before investigating the case and detaining the husband half an hour later at their home, Bernama reported.

The woman worked as an insurance agent and her husband is a cook at an eatery.

Residents at the apartment building found her body covered with blood on the roof of an electricity supply switch panel room at the foot of the building. Under questioning by police, her husband admitted shoving her during a fight.

Soffian said the couple were having an argument at their home on the 18th floor because the suspect was allegedly jealous of the wife, whom he suspected of having an affair with another man.

He said police seized two mobile phones and a bottle containing crystals and a plastic packet suspected to contain drugs used by the suspect.

He said the man tested positive for drugs and was now being remanded for six days to facilitate the investigation for murder.
