
International trade and industry minister Azmin Ali said he could not disclose the name of the company but could reveal that the company had agreed to open its first overseas plant in Malaysia.
“This is about precision engineering which means that one of the most expensive car makers in the world will be in Malaysia,” he said during a question and answer session at the Selangor state level Rapat Malaysia Prihatin programme here today.
He said there are Asean countries with large populations which could attract investments that are labour-intensive.
“But Malaysia can’t offer that, so we must ensure our human capital has high-quality technological skills to move forward,” he added.
