It’s your father who caused downfall of PH, Mukhriz told

PKR man hits back at Mukhriz for alleging that Anwar tried to get PAS to support no-confidence motion against Mahathir.

PETALING JAYA:
PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin has hit back at Mukhriz Mahathir after the latter claimed Anwar Ibrahim had tried to remove Dr Mahathir Mohamad as Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) prime minister with PAS’ support.

In a statement earlier today, Mukhriz claimed Kelantan PAS secretary Che Abdullah Mat Nawi had revealed that the PKR president had tried to get PAS to support a no-confidence motion against Mahathir.

Describing it as a “stab in the back”, the Pejuang man told PKR not to act as if its leaders were sincere and gentlemanly when PH was in power.

Speaking to FMT, Shamsul said it was “certainly unwise” for Mukhriz to rely on the PAS man’s allegations, reminding the Jerlun MP that the downfall of the PH government was caused by his father’s resignation as prime minister.

“My piece of advice to him as one of the senior leaders – let’s forge a consensus to move as one opposition bloc and focus on the people’s issue. That’s paramount,” he said.

In a talk hosted by Sinar Harian last week, in which Shamsul took part, Che Abdullah had told the PKR man to ask Anwar if it was true he had tried to get PAS to support a no-confidence vote against the prime minister at the time.

When contacted by FMT, the Tumpat MP said he was only telling Shamsul to ask Anwar if this issue was true.
