He told FMT that he had received many calls today asking about his sacking and whether it was true he intended to join PKR.
“I have yet to receive official information from the party that I have been sacked. I only heard that (PPBM secretary-general) Hamzah Zainudin had issued a statement about my sacking.
“Without any official information, I’m not sure if I’m still a part of PPBM or if I’m an independent assemblyman now.”
He added that rumours of him joining PKR had surfaced because several pictures of him meeting the party’s leaders and members had gone viral on social media.
He said he had met colleagues from various political parties after the Perak political crisis in December, which saw him signing a statutory declaration supporting Umno’s Saarani Mohamad as the new menteri besar.
“I met colleagues from Umno, Amanah and PKR, but I don’t have any intention to join other parties yet.
“I will write an official letter to PPBM asking about my status in the party.”
Meanwhile, Perak PPBM secretary Zainol Fadzi Paharudin said Hasnul’s membership had been automatically terminated after he went against the party’s directive and backed Saarani as menteri besar.
He told FMT that Hasnul had already lost his membership in the party in December, adding that he did not need to be officially informed by the party.
Hasnul had joined PPBM in June last year, following the change in the federal government. He was previously an independent assemblyman for a short while after leaving Amanah in March 2020.
