KUALA LUMPUR:
A taxi driver and three men were arrested last Wednesday on suspicion of trafficking drugs with a street value of RM3.4 million using a taxi.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said police found part of the drugs stashed in the taxi’s boot after detaining the first suspect.

The drugs seized included 31kg of heroin base, 10kg of ketamin, 2.5kg of syabu, and more than 1,300 Ecstasy and Eramin 5 pills.

Saiful said this led to the arrest of three other suspects. A house and condominium were later raided.

Various types of drugs were found stashed there. Police also found a pistol and 23 bullets at the condominium. A Toyota Vios car and RM11,782 in cash was seized.

He said all the suspects, locals aged between 34 and 58, had records involving criminal and drug-related offences, adding that two of them tested positive for drugs.
