In a statement, Sekijang MP Natrah Ismail said she was approached by two individuals on March 3, including one with the title of “Datuk Seri”, asking if she was interested in remaining as the MP for Sekijang.
“During the meeting, they said that I had done a good job in Sekijang and they wanted to help me continue my work as a member of Parliament.
“They asked if I was interested to support Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin,” she said, adding that the individuals also promised benefits in return.
However, she rejected the offer.
“I have made it clear that I have no intention to support Muhyiddin and rejected their offer.
“I have reported this (incident) to the PKR leadership. This is because I believe that evil attempts (to poach MPs) through offers of gifts and positions or through threats to PKR (members) and opposition MPs have been ongoing.
“It is clear that the minority government of today is ready to do anything, except advising the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to call for an immediate parliamentary session,” she added.
Recently, two PKR MPs – Julau MP Larry Sng and Tebrau MP Steven Choong – quit the party and declared their support for Muhyiddin.
After they had switched camps, Muhyiddin said the support from Sng and Choong would strengthen PN’s efforts in fighting Covid-19 and reviving the economy.
“I have received their statutory declarations. They have pledged full support for PN,” he said in a Facebook post.
