PETALING JAYA:
Police are investigating a scam involving the sale of Covid-19 vaccines.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Zainuddin Yaacob said to date, two police reports were lodged after victims incurred losses amounting to RM285,499.

The case is being probed for cheating.

In a statement, Zainuddin said the government was providing Covid-19 vaccines for free.

“Offers to sell vaccines may be a scam.

“The public must be wary of irresponsible parties trying to take advantage of a situation.”

Zainuddin also did not dismiss the possibility that fake advertisements purportedly offering Covid-19 vaccines will crop up in future.

He was speaking after such an advertisement appeared on an e-market platform. The company has since denied such an advertisement appeared on its site.
