PETALING JAYA: Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, the wife of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, was forced to walk five stories down an office building.
In a Facebook post, an aide to Mahathir, Adam Mukhriz Mohd Muhayeedin, shared how Siti Hasmah, 94, had to walk down the stairs as the elevator she was about to enter stopped working because of a blackout in the building.
Adam said he was taken by surprise when Siti Hasmah asked if he was okay after they reached the end of the stairs.
“While climbing down the stairs, Tun Siti Hasmah shared how she had to walk down from the 80th floor of a hotel she was staying in New York because it caught fire.
“Thank god, Tun Siti Hasmah managed to walk down from the fifth floor without a problem,” he said in the post, in which a number of people commended Siti Hasmah over her strength and health.
