KUALA LUMPUR:
Six Covid-19 patients suffered minor injuries when an express bus carrying 12 patients from Perak crashed into a toll plaza near Serdang this afternoon while on the way to the nearby quarantine and low-risk treatment centre.

The 41-year-old bus driver was believed to have lost control of the vehicle.

Sepang police said he suffered leg injuries and was later confirmed to also be Covid-19 positive. A urine test revealed he was drug negative.

Police said the bus was ferrying patients linked to the Changkat Jong Cluster in Perak. The six injured victims were taken immediately to the Serdang quarantine centre for further treatment.

The incident was highlighted on social media today when a video showing the bus losing control and ramming into the toll plaza, and several photos of the damaged vehicle after the crash, went viral.
