KUALA LUMPUR:
The army will take delivery of six MD-530G helicopters worth RM321.9 million in August, said army chief General Zamrose Mohd Zain.

He said the McDonnell Douglas helicopters were still in Arizona, US.

“These MD-530G helicopters have undergone the flight test requirements and I was there (Arizona) to see to the validation testing.

“After all procedures are cleared, the six helicopters will arrive in Malaysia this August.

“I will be going to Arizona again for the next phase, which is the pre-delivery inspection (PDI).

“Subsequently, training in their use will be conducted,” he said in an interview in conjunction with the 88th Army Day celebration at Perdana Sungai Besi Camp here today.

Zamrose was confident these helicopters would have a marked improvement in military operations.
