The ministry said the decision was made following many enquiries from parents who were concerned that they were not prepared for the reopening of schools in stages, starting from March 1.
“Taking into account the current situation, the education ministry would like to inform that students who do not yet have school uniforms are given permission to wear appropriate and neat clothes to attend school.
“This permission is given from March 1 to March 26, 2021, which is until the mid-term school holidays in 2021 to allow all students to attend face-to-face learning,” the ministry said in a statement today.
Preschools and primary schools will reopen from March 1, education minister Radzi Jidin announced recently.
He said Year 1 and 2 students will be back to school on March 1, while those in Year 3 to 6 will be back in school on March 8.
Secondary schools will be opened in two groups on April 4 and 5, according to the weekends in the respective states.
Meanwhile, all international schools and tuition centres will be allowed to resume operations from March 8.
