Penang allocates RM1.25 million for mosques and suraus

Penang has allocated RM1,251,000 for mosques and surau across the state this year.

Deputy Chief Minister Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman told a media conference today that a total of RM1 million would be channelled for the “Pengimarahan” programme at the six main mosques in the state.

They are the state mosque, which will receive RM510,000, Abdullah Fahim Mosque in Kepala Batas (RM130,000) and four district mosques in Barat Daya, Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah and Seberang Perai Selatan, which will receive RM90,000 each, he said.

He said the remaining RM251,000 would be distributed to 242 mosques and suraus for the “Ehya’ Ramadhan” programme.
