Ipoh district police chief A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the men, aged between 26 and 71, were caught during a raid at 11.45am yesterday.
“Investigations showed that cockfights had taken place five times. Each round lasts 20 minutes, with bets ranging from RM500 to RM1,000,” he said.
Police seized five cocks, five cages, a digital clock, RM25,000 and other items in the raid.

Asmadi said the 14 were issued compounds for going against the movement control order, and were being held at the Jelapang police station.
Police would apply for a remand order against them today to facilitate investigations under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and Animals Ordinance 1953.
