All houses of prayer open now, with limits

Only 30 worshippers will be allowed at any given time, and regular sanitisation needed.

All temples, churches and wats are now allowed to have a maximum of 30 worshippers at a time, but only at set schedules.
PETALING JAYA:
Churches, temples, gurdwaras and wats will now be allowed to open, with a maximum of 30 people at any one prayer session.

In a statement today, the national unity ministry said the houses of worship are also required to sanitise their premises for 30 minutes before and after any religious activities or prayers.

The ruling is applicable until the end of the movement control order on Feb 18.

The ministry also provided operating hours for the premises to conduct activities and prayers, with churches, Buddhist and Taoist temples allowed to welcome worshippers from 6am to 2pm.

Hindu temples can conduct services in two sessions, from 6am to 10am and 5pm to 9pm, while the timing for gurdwaras is from 6am to 9am.

Worshippers are required to check in using the MySejahtera contact tracing app in areas which have internet access.

However, senior citizens and those who do not own a mobile phone are exempt from the ruling.
