BUKIT MERTAJAM:
Police nabbed eight men and three women on suspicion of being involved in two wild parties featuring drugs and flouting movement restrictions at a hotel here early today.

Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Shafee Abd Samad said the 11 were engrossed in entertaining themselves and consuming drugs in two rooms at a hotel in Jalan Machang Bubok when police arrived at 2.20am.

“Police nabbed four men and a woman in a raid on the first room at the hotel and seized ketamin and ecstacy pills while six more (four men and two women) were detained in the second room,’’ he said in a statement today.

He said all the partygoers, aged 20 to 40, were believed to have rented the rooms at the hotel to entertain themselves and consume drugs to avoid being detected by the authorities.

Ten of the individuals detained tested positive for drugs and were held for further investigations, while all of them were compounded RM1,000 for flouting the movement control order.
