In a statement today, UiTM named the two students as Fatin Najwa Azman, 22, a fifth-semester student of the ACCA programme, and Putera Aiman Abdul Rashid, 19, a final-semester student of the CAT programme.
Putera Aiman, in fact, finished as the second-best student in the world for the Maintaining Financial Records examination.
Fatin also won first place in Malaysia and was ninth in the world for the Audit and Assurance examination.
Both are from the Faculty of Accountancy
In the statement, dean of the accountancy faculty, professor Haslinda Yusoff said the two students were very committed and dedicated to their studies, and this was in addition to a good learning environment.
“The faculty is very proactive in fostering an effective learning environment. The combination of an effective teaching and learning system at UiTM contributes to students’ success.
“This success also proves Bumiputera excellence in the field of accounting.
“It can be used as a stimulus to produce more top Bumiputera accounting professionals in the world,” she said.
Haslinda also said the two students are expected to give impetus to all UiTM staff to continue to give their best towards making the university a world-class educational institution.
UiTM is said to be the first public university in Malaysia to receive the ACCA Platinum Award since July 2011, and continues to serve as a major public educational institution in supporting the country’s aspirations in producing 60,000 certified accountants by 2030.
