PETALING JAYA:
Singapore has suspended its Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) travel arrangements with several countries including Malaysia after a surge in Covid-19 cases.

In a statement today, Singapore’s foreign affairs ministry said the RGL with Malaysia, Germany and South Korea would be suspended for three months from Feb 1.

“The government of Singapore will review the RGL arrangements at the end of the suspension period. Travellers who have already been approved to enter Singapore under these RGLs can continue to do so,” it said.

The ministry added the government will continue to keep an eye on the global pandemic situation and adjust its border measures accordingly to prevent any infections in the community.

Singapore tightened its border measures in November last year as Malaysia experienced the third wave of Covid-19 cases, imposing a 14-day quarantine on travellers.

The republic has managed to control the pandemic situation there, with only 24 new cases reported yesterday, all of which were imported.
