
In a 3 minutes and 17 seconds video, a voice-over said that since 2015, scammers were continuously conning people via emails, calls, social media and WhatsApp, including offering people money and threatening them.
It went on to say that the root cause was due to private and government servers containing such data being hacked and leaked.
The data is then sold to third parties, it claimed.
“We know who you are. We care about our country,” the recording said, adding that if no action is taken, netizens would.
“We do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us.”
It was previously reported that the group had vowed to launch the cyberattack on government websites and online assets.
The group said the cyberattack would serve as a “wake-up call” for the government purportedly in retaliation over data breaches and sale of personal information of the public.
A few days ago, police said they have yet to receive any report of government websites being hacked following the threat made by the group.
Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Zainuddin Yaacob however said the police’s cybercrime division was always on alert to curb any such attempts.
