KUCHING:
Two men destroyed items at a coffee shop at Jalan Pinang Laka in Sarikei – all over a debt issue.

Sarawak police commissioner Aidi Ismail said the incident, which was seen in a video that went viral, happened at around 8.47am yesterday.

The video showed the men rushing into the shop and confronting a man seated in front before starting to damage the items in the premises using a wooden stick.

He said three suspects in their 50s were nabbed on the same day after a police report was lodged.

“Initial investigations revealed that it was due to a debt issue,” he said when contacted.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing damage through acts of mischief.
