
Local media reports said the coverage applies to policyholders of the Integrated Shield Plan who receive government-approved vaccines and get vaccinated in Singapore.
The coverage will be provided until Dec 31, although extensions might be considered.
Integrated Shield Plans comprise medical insurance coverage provided by the Central Provident Fund and an additional private insurance coverage for hospitalisation in A- and B1-type wards in public and private hospitals.
The Singapore health ministry lists several common side effects of Covid-19 vaccines, such as pain, redness and swelling at the injection site, fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, tiredness and swollen lymph nodes.
These side effects are typically resolved within three days with rest or the use of paracetamol, the ministry said.
