YTL extends offer of free phones and data for B40 students

Teachers have been encouraged to nominate poor students lacking resources to learn from home.

YTL Foundation is offering free handphones and a data package for poor students to follow online classes from their homes.
PETALING JAYA:
YTL Foundation has extended its offer to provide free phones and 120GB worth of data to help children from B40 low-income families learn from home.

The offer was initially made in April last year as part of their “Learn From Home Initiative” during the first movement control order, with nominations now extended until June 30.

Teachers have been encouraged to nominate students who have trouble continuing their studies at home due to the lack of devices or connectivity.

Selected B40 students will receive 10GB a month for a year, courtesy of YES 4G, which is under YTL Communications Sdn Bhd.

Interested applicants must obtain the consent of the parents of students they are nominating and provide the student’s MyKad/MyKid number, the parent’s MyKad number, and proof of the parent’s B40 status from the government’s Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) portal.

Teachers can find out the parents’ B40 status by visiting https://bpn.hasil.gov.my/ by entering the MyKad number.
