Fadzlina Amran said her intention was just to get cured from the constant nightmares that had been plaguing her and her family since 2000.

Fadzlina said she had experienced incidents similar to those seen in “ghost stories”, like vomiting rusty nails or glass and getting hysterical.

“Sometimes, someone would seem to be knocking on the house door but when we open it, there would be no one.

“My husband sometimes also looked like he was possessed.”

She said they sought assistance from various ustaz but could get no relief.

Yesterday, her husband Iqbal Mirza Mohd Jalaludin had told the inquiry that he was recommended by a friend to seek Joshua’s help but might have “accidentally” been baptised to become a Christian during the process.

Suhakam is holding an inquiry into the disappearance of Joshua, a Malay who had converted to Christianity, and his wife, Ruth Sitepu. Both have been missing since November 2016.

Fadzlina said evil spirits had been disturbing them since 2000.

“Sometimes, the eggs in the kitchen would crack on their own with blood oozing out or cups may suddenly fly around.

“I don’t want to say much. People may say I am creating all these, ” she added.

Fadzlina said she did not seek psychiatric help as her husband and her mother had also witnessed some of these strange incidents.

Her husband was then recommended by a friend to meet a Malay pastor, Joshua, who was said to be good at healing such cases.

She and her husband first met Joshua and his wife in early 2015 in Petaling Jaya.

“We told them our problems and he said he would help in his own way,” she said, adding that she and her husband were then asked to take a shower.

She said Joshua’s wife Ruth poured water on her. Asked if any religious verses were read, she said: “At that time, I didn’t care what she was reading. I just wanted to be healed.”

Before the shower, she said Ruth had shown a video of her healing a woman. She said she truly believed Joshua was a healer and could free them of their troubles.

She was then shown a social media posting where Joshua had written that he had baptised her and her husband on Jan 1, 2015.

Fadzlina said she went there for healing and not to be baptised.

“I heard her saying to have a bath. I did hear the word Jesus,” she said, adding she and her husband met them twice again. Thereafter, there had been no communication between them.

She was then shown two baptism certificates bearing her name and that of her husband, but she said she had never seen these documents before.

She was also asked if she knew Pastor Koh, who went missing in February 2017. She said she met Koh through Harapan Community, an NGO to help the sick, in 2012.

She said she found Harapan Community through the internet and sought their help for her father, who was suffering from cancer.
