Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) chairman Zeti Akhtar Aziz said in conjunction with ASB’s 30th anniversary, all unit holders will also receive a 0.75 sen bonus but only on their first 30,000 units.
She added that the total payout to the fund’s 10.2 million unit holders comes up to RM7.6 billion.
This year’s income distribution is the lowest return in history. It was 5 sen with a bonus of 0.5 sen per unit last year, and 6.5 sen with a bonus of 0.5 sen per unit in 2018.
Zeti said ASB’s income distribution remained competitive despite the various challenges faced by the global economy following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, PNB CEO Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said the company was working on introducing new initiatives and offerings to its unit holders, in line with ever-changing economic landscapes.
“PNB remains focused on the execution of its long-term strategy which has yielded positive returns,” he said, adding that it had resulted in “greater income distribution from global investment assets”.
Ahmad Zulqarnain said the company would continue to build a resilient investment portfolio, as well as provide long-term sustainable returns for its unit holders in the future.
