
In a statement, Lim said the police had contacted his lawyer and Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo to record a statement.
“I will likely be seeing the police on Thursday, a Christmas ‘gift’ from the PN government,” he quipped.
The former Penang chief minister claimed it was the “latest act of political persecution by Perikatan Nasional”, where the current government had “weaponised” enforcement agencies against the opposition.
Next June, a court is set to hear several charges against Lim relating to the Penang undersea tunnel project stemming from his time as state chief minister.
The project to link George Town on the island and Butterworth on the mainland was conceived when Lim was Penang chief minister. The project, however, has been bogged down by corruption probes against Lim.
