Terrifying moment for family as vehicle ends up balancing on bridge edge

Driver was not able to see the path because bridge was under flood waters and there were no railings on either side.

Fire and rescue staff were able to rescue the occupants of the 4WD vehicle and send them to Hospital Setiu in Terangganu.
SETIU:
Three family members, including a one-year-old boy, had a terrifying moment when a four-wheel-drive vehicle they were travelling in skidded on a bridge in Kampung Sri Bayas, Permaisuri, here and almost plunged into the river underneath it last night.

Setiu fire and rescue station chief Zull Azman Jamaludin said his men received a distress call at about 9.25pm and upon arriving at the scene found the vehicle on the edge of the bridge with its right front and rear tyre hanging over, with the driver and passengers still inside.

“The incident happened due to the driver, Wan Mohamad Taufiq Ramli, 28, not being able to see the path because the bridge was submerged in about 0.3 metres of water and there was no railing on the sides of the bridge,” he said when contacted today.

He said Wan Taufiq was with his father, Ramli Mustafa, 62, and they were on their way to Setiu Hospital to send his son, Wan Mohamad Zafran, who was having high fever.

Zull Azman said all the victims were rescued and then sent to Setiu Hospital.
