IPOH:
Five more Perak executive councillors are set to be sworn in by Sultan Nazrin Shah at Istana Kinta at 5pm today.

Istana Kinta spokesman Mohd Annuar Zaini, who is also a Perak Dewan Negara member, said no press coverage will be allowed at the Istana following Sultan Nazrin’s wish to conclude the ceremony as soon as possible.

He said Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad has just been instructed to meet Sultan Nazrin to present the list of the five remaining councillors.

“The ceremony will be held at Istana Kinta with just the menteri besar, state secretary and judges,” Annuar told reporters outside Istana Kinta after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Saarani had an audience with Sultan Nazrin.

Last Thursday, Perak PPBM secretary and Sungai Manik assemblyman Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin was among the five state executive councillors who took their oaths of office in front of Sultan Nazrin at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar.

Zainol, who was made a senior state executive councillor, had served in the previous administration as state executive council adviser to former menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

The four other executive councillors appointed last week had also been part of the previous administration. They are Zolkafly Harun (Lintang assemblyman), Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Rungkup), Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin (Kampong Gajah) and Khairul Shahril Mohamed (Bota) and are all from Umno.
