Three leaders of the Pakatan Harapan coalition partners arrived at the Istana Kinta today for an audience with Perak ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming was the first to arrive at 10.40am, followed by Perak PKR head Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak and Amanah state chief Asmuni Awi.

The three leaders are believed to have requested for the audience after Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu lost a confidence vote at the state assembly yesterday. They spent 40 minutes there and all left at 11.35am.

Following their departure, Perak Umno liaison head Saarani Mohamad arrived at the Istana Kinta for an audience with the Sultan of Perak.

Saarani was seen entering the palace at 11.40am and left at noon. He declined to comment when approached by reporters as he was leaving.

Faizal had an audience with the Sultan yesterday. He said he was not advising for a dissolution of the state assembly in view of the Covid-19 situation in the country.

He said he would give way to this successor and would act as menteri besar in the interim period.

Meanwhile, a member of the Dewan Negara Perak, Mohd Annuar Zaini Mohd, told reporters that the Sultan advised political parties to find the best formula to choose the new Menteri Besar and state government.

He said the Sultan had listened to all views of the various parties.

He said Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had been granted an audience with the Sultan at Istana Kinta at 10am tomorrow.
