
It is believed they had been infected by a customer who dined at the outlet two weeks ago.
In a statement today, Nasi Kandar Jamal Mohamed said district health officers came to the outlet on Nov 13 and swabbed seven of its workers, and later ordered them to be quarantined.
It said of the seven workers, two tested positive. The restaurant said it would close for an indefinite period to allow for disinfection and close contact tracing.
The Penang Health Department has reported 23 Covid-19 cases in the Seberang Perai North district, which includes Butterworth, as of yesterday.
There are 1,654 cases in the state with 262 active cases as of yesterday, the department reported.
