Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) demanded an apology from Tiong, who asked Noor Hisham on Wednesday if he was afraid of dying from Covid-19 for avoiding activities on the ground.
In a statement today, the PSB secretariat said it was ridiculous of Tiong to ask Noor Hisham to go to the frontline and visit hospitals.
“We condemn the despicable and deplorable attack by the MP against a civil servant,” it said.
PSB said Tiong, who is the president of the Progressive Democratic Party, a component of the ruling GPS, should issue a public apology to Noor Hisham.
“Otherwise, we call on (Muhyiddin) to sack Tiong as the special envoy of the prime minister to China.”
Speaking during the debate on the 2021 budget proposals in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday, Tiong had accused Noor Hisham of seeking publicity with his daily health briefings.
He also asked why Noor Hisham was not providing moral support to frontliners.
