Sarawak Disaster Management Committee chairman Douglas Uggah Embas said all the cases were detected in Kuching, including five individuals, aged between 29 and 64, linked to the Green Hill cluster.
A new Wisma Saberkas cluster has also been identified with three individuals in the building testing positive.
The three, aged between 26 and 37, work for the same company in the building.
“Among the other local transmissions is a man who went for a swab test at a private hospital after losing his sense of taste, a childcare teacher and a security officer,” he said at a press conference.
The two remaining local transmission cases involved a Chinese national who worked at a reflexology centre and an Indonesian man who had gone for screening before starting work with his new employer.
“The two foreigners had been categorised as local transmissions as they have no travel history to high risk areas,” Uggah said.
He added that the only imported case involved a Sarawakian man who had travelled to Negeri Sembilan and tested positive during his mandatory 14-day quarantine upon his return from the peninsula.
There are currently six active clusters in Sarawak, namely the, Wisma Saberkas cluster, Green Hill cluster, Baki cluster, Seladah cluster, Bah Arnab cluster and Putra cluster.
To date, Sarawak has recorded 906 cases, including 19 deaths.
