PETALING JAYA:
Abdul Khani Daud, CEO of Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), has been appointed to the board of the world’s leading association for the meetings industry.

MyCEB said Abdul Khani had been appointed to represent the Asia-Pacific region on the board of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). The appointment was announced at the ICCA general assembly in Amsterdam recently.

His term will be for two years from 2020 to 2022.

Abdul Khani said he was determined to contribute to the ICCA and help ensure the sustainable growth of the industry in the region.

This includes encouraging ICCA to invest more in the Asia-Pacific region while carrying out a strategic market intelligence study for the region.

“Even though I am new to this large ICCA family, I am not a total stranger to the business events industry,” said Abdul Khani, who was appointed to the MyCEB board in 2017 while serving as Tourism Malaysia deputy director-general.
