PUTRAJAYA:
Several ministers dodged questions from the media on the agenda of the special Cabinet meeting called by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as they left the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) here today.

International Trade and Industry Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali and National Unity Minister Halimah Mohamed Sadique just waved to the reporters and cameramen as they left the Perdana Putra building at about 2.10pm.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said he will be heading to Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), where the Umno Supreme Council as well as Barisan Nasional MPs are meeting.

“I will be heading to PWTC, the meeting has already started,” he said.

Ministers had been spotted arriving for the meeting at the PMO since 11am, with sources telling FMT the prime minister was seeking support from his Perikatan Nasional (PN) allies for next year’s Budget.

A PN insider told FMT that Muhyiddin and several MPs were at a closed-door meeting to seek support from PAS, MCA and MIC as well as other members of his Cabinet.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and MIC president S Vigneswaran had arrived earlier in the morning for the meeting, but it was not known if Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had joined them.
