KUALA LUMPUR:
A Malaysian-born woman and her young child were found dead at their home in Brentford, West London, yesterday.

London police, who forced their way into the apartment at 1am, found toddler Kailash Kuha Raj and his mother Poorna Kaameshwari Sivaraj, 36, dead.

They believe the two had been dead for some time.

Police also found Poorna’s husband Kuha Raj Sithamparanathan, 42, with stab wounds and although medics treated him on the spot, he died soon after. He too was born in Malaysia.

Their pet cockapoo dog was also found dead.

According to The Sun UK, police have not ruled out the possibility that it is a case of murder-suicide.

The report also said that police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

The Sun UK quoted detective chief inspector Simon Harding as saying that initial enquiries had “established that Poorna and Kailash had not been seen or heard from for some time”.

The tabloid newspaper also quoted neighbours as saying they could hear the couple arguing in recent months during the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

It quoted one resident, Jamila, saying that things got really bad between them during the lockdown.

“They are one of the few couples with a young child in our block and you could hear the screaming at each other, sometimes for very long periods.”

Police went to the house after receiving a call from a family member expressing concern about Poorna, who had not been seen since last month.

According to the report: “Police then forced their way in at 12.50am on Tuesday. It is believed Kuha fatally injured himself when officers entered the property.”
