PETALING JAYA:
Bukit Aman has referred its investigation paper (IP) on the case involving Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Khairuddin Aman Razali, who had flouted a mandatory quarantine order after returning from a work-trip to Turkey, back to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC).

Deputy director of CID at Bukit Aman Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the IP was referred back to the AGC on Oct 1 for further review.

Last Sept 30, CID chief Huzir Mohamed said police were investigating Khairuddin for the offence.

He said there were a few steps police still needed to take after receiving the IP from the AGC.

“In the near future, we will be able to fulfil the instructions given out by the AGC,” said Huzir.

Khairuddin came under the spotlight when he reportedly flouted his mandatory 14-day quarantine order by attending a Dewan Rakyat sitting shortly after returning home from Turkey in July.

Khairuddin previously said he had already paid his fine of RM1,000 and cooperated with the enforcement authorities in the investigations.

He also announced that he will be donating his salary as a minister from May till August to the National Covid-19 Fund.
