Five candidates are contesting for the constituency, which has 8,159 voters.
His rivals for the seat are Mohd. Ismail Ayob of Warisan; Razman Mayan (PCS); Mohd Al Ruzaine @ Sairin Abdul Rahman (PPRS); and independent candidate Junny @ Karuak Abdullah.
The Lamag seat is newly-created and is being contested for the first time. It is one of 13 new seats created by the state assembly which received approval in July last year.
Lamag is within the Kinabatangan parliamentary constituency where Bung Mokhtar has been the MP for six terms. He was returned to the seat in 2018 with a 9,400-vote majority against candidates from Warisan and PHRS.
