This would leave PKR with seven seats but the party has already announced it would contest 14 seats.
Earlier today, Warisan president Shafie Apdal announced his party, DAP and Amanah would contest 54 seats under the Warisan logo.
Upko president Wilfred Madius Tangau said his party would contest 12 seats under its own logo.
At a press conference after announcing the candidates, Shafie said he would leave it to PKR to make an announcement on its candidates but hoped they would do so soon as nomination day was this Saturday.
“I hope they will preserve this cooperation because Upko is not contesting in Peninsular Malaysia. We do not contest in Sarawak, Perlis, Kedah, Selangor and they contest in all these areas. That is a lot of seats.”
Shafie said Warisan Plus had not sidelined PKR, adding the party’s leaders were given high posts despite DAP having more seats.
“This is being done in cooperation with component parties,” he said, adding that negotiations regarding the distribution of seats should already be completed, which was why Warisan Plus was announcing its candidates today.
“They (PKR leaders) were there when the discussions took place. I informed them.”
He said he told PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail that they had limited time to make the announcement on candidates because it was important to ensure everything was ready for nominations.
Earlier today, Sabah PKR chief Christina Liew attended the event announcing Warisan Plus’ candidates, but did not participate in the press conference held later.
