Kuching PR exec crowned Miss Universe-Malaysia 2020

She will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe competition set to be held in the first quarter of 2021.

Sarawakian Francisca Luhong James was crowned Miss Universe-Malaysia 2020 last night, beating 17 other contestants in the live-streamed contest.

The 25-year-old public relations and marketing executive from Kuching will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe competition set to be held in the first quarter of 2021 at a location yet to be announced.

The Kayan-Kenyah-Iban lass received the stunning “Reflection” crown by Habib, featuring a 10-carat diamond set in white gold worth RM2.38 million, from the previous winner.

She also received cash, sponsored prizes valued at RM180,000 and a scholarship from HELP University.

Selangor’s Charissa Chong Su Huey, 26, was named first runner-up, followed by Johor’s Serene Chai Yong Bin, 26, and Kuala Lumpur’s Neha Varma, 22.

“It feels surreal. I didn’t expect this, but I’ve worked really hard for this. I am grateful and feel blessed for this opportunity,” said Francisca in a statement released by the Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation.

She also won the Best in Evening Gown and Miss Auto Bavaria Elegance titles.
