In a statement, the company said the treatment plants underwent 10 hours of cleaning and flushing activities yesterday in order to be fully operational and will fill up the balancing reservoir up to the 4-metre level.
This is expected to be completed by 8.30am today before clean water can be distributed to consumers.
“We will inform consumers about the water supply recovery schedule by areas after the water supply distribution system has been stabilised.
“This includes filling up empty main reservoirs, ensuring that water pressure is at the optimum level and ensuring there is no airlock on the piping system,” Air Selangor said.
The company added it will continue to release 500 million litres per day (MLD) of raw water from the Sungai Selangor Dam, 800 MLD from Sungai Tinggi Dam, 150 MLD from stormwater and groundwater tank HORAS 600, and 582 MLD from water pond pumping operations, to help raw water supply recovery for all four plants.
The four plants can treat a maximum of 2,850 MLD.
Additionally, the company said that nine water tankers from water companies of other states including Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Kedah and Johor have been dispatched to Selangor to help supply water to all affected consumers.
