RM50 e-cash under MySejahtera app redeemed by 9.9 million so far

The e-cash is offered under the ePenjana initiative and must be used by the end of the month.

The e-cash offer under the MySejahtera app will end on Sept 24, and those who have redeemed it will need to use it by Sept 30.
KUALA LUMPUR:
As of Aug 21, up to 9.9 million users had redeemed RM495 million under the MySejahtera app, Deputy Finance Minister II Mohd Shahar Abdullah said today.

He said users started redeeming the allocation on July 31 and that the offer would end on Sept 24. Users will need to spend it by Sept 30, he added.

Wong Shu Qi (PH-Kluang) had asked about the number of applicants who successfully redeemed the e-cash worth RM50.

The MySejahtera app was introduced during the movement control order (MCO) period to allow interstate travel and to enable contact tracing through the user details registered at each premise.

Under the ePenjana initiative, the app was later credited with RM50 for each user.

Wong also spoke of breach of privacy and data security as users are required to fill in their details when registering with the app.

However, Shahar assured her that all details were kept safe under the Personal Data Protection Act.
